Homemade Dark Chocolate Crackin’ Hard Shell Ice Cream Sauce

Called ‘Magic Shell’ in Australia and the US, A crackin’ chocolate hard shell sauce looks amazing and – even better – is amazingly simple to put together. It uses the alchemy of coconut oil and chocolate to create a sauce that runs while it’s warm but, when poured over ice cream, will harden within seconds to create a crisp, shell that tastes delicious. Best of all, by using dark chocolate that is vegan-frinedly, this recipe becomes totally plant-based!
INGREDIENTS
150g vegan dark chocolate
25g coconut oil
Sprinkle of almond flakes (optional)
Method
1. Melt the chocolate and coconut oil in a pan set to a low heat until completely melted.
2. Whilst it is still warm, pour over your ice cream and watch the magic happen!
3. (Optional) Sprinkle with lightly toasted and salted almond flakes for added crunch and flavour!
