Beau’s makes mouth-wateringly good ice cream that nourishes people and the planet we live on. To do that, we needed to create an ice cream that looked, felt and tasted indistinguishable from dairy.

With seven Great Taste awards in the General Ice Cream category (that is, competing directly with dairy ice cream makers), Beau’s has shown time and time again that its gelato can mix it with the best that’s currently out there – and fool experts into thinking it’s made with cow’s milk!

All our ice creams use a base of just four (or five) natural, vegan ingredients

  • The base of all our gelato is made from blended cashews and water blended for that rich, creamy taste that we’re known for

  • We use artificial sweeteners or additives; instead, we use unrefined cane sugar to add sweetness

  • We use salt (and lemon in our fruity flavours like Raspberry and Strawberry) to temper the other ingredients and create a balanced taste profile on your tongue.

Soy-Free, Wheat-Free and Dairy-Free

By keeping our ingredient lists simple and avoiding any pre-fabricated mixes, we can ensure that our signature flavours contain no soy or wheat. We also produce our gelato in a completely vegan factory, so there’s no danger of dairy or lactose contamination in our products.

Organic Where Possible

We source our ingredients in the most ethical way we can, with the ambition of going wholly organic as a company within the next twelve months.

We’ve made great steps with this, particularly with ingredients where it is incredibly difficult to source organic variants, such as cashews – but there is still more for us to do…

No Junk Ingredients

Most ice creams made these days rely on pre-fabricated mixes and artificial additives to create the right flavour profile – which is not how ice cream is meant to be made.

Rather than rely on fake flavour, we provide the real thing by packing tons of the core ingredient into our gelato (up to 40% of the overall ingredient mix, an industry high) so each mouthful offers a burst of genuine flavour.

Why Choose an Ice Cream that’s Vegan?

A lot of the plant-based ice cream available in supermarkets is nowhere near good enough compared to dairy – that’s why we set out to make a replacement that looks, feels and tastes like the original.

Beyond the amazing taste, however, there are a number of reasons why picking dairy-free is the right way to go.

Vegan ice cream – whether made with nuts, oats, rice or soy as a base – has a much smaller environmental impact than dairy ice cream, as well as avoiding the huge use of agricultural land and the animal welfare issues resulting from dairy production.

For most allergy sufferers*, vegan ice cream is generally a safer bet than dairy alternatives. Not only is our gelato perfect for those who are dairy-free, lactose intolerant or trying to avoid gluten – we also steer clear of soy, which is often used in other vegan ice creams and is a common allergen.

*All Beau’s products contain nuts, and may contain traces of peanuts. As such they are not suitable for people with any kind of nut allergy.
