Beau's Raspberry Gelato

Each month, we’ll be highlighting one of our gelato flavours and telling the story behind the recipe. This month we’re looking at our Great Taste Award-winning Raspberry gelato.

With this flavour we wanted to take something familiar and serve it in an unfamiliar way, taking the tangy, sweet freshness that makes Raspberry such a great sorbetto flavour and pair it up with our deep and rich plant milk gelato base.

A subtle combination of diverse yet complementary taste profiles, Beau’s Raspberry gelato is sweet, tart and creamy all in a single mouthful made with real fresh raspberries with a vibrant colour – hitting all the right notes as a stand-out fruity flavour that everyone loves.


Raspberry Gelato: Taste Profile

Bold and robust, as much as forty-one percent of our Raspberry gelato is made of actual fresh raspberries, replicating the authentic sweetness and tart undertones that you would expect when eating an actual punnet of raspberries.

As opposed to a sorbet our Raspberry gelato is balanced with a smooth creaminess courtesy of our ethically sourced cashew milk. When churned with our fresh, organically-grown raspberries it provides a delightful blend of rich velvet and refreshing sharpness, along with a faint floral aftertaste that lingers delightfully on the palate.


Key Ingredient: Raspberry

An edible fruit that is part of the same genus as roses, raspberries have been part of human diets since palaeolithic times and were first widely cultivated in Britain around the 13th Century.

Raspberries are known for their antioxidant properties, which can help reduce inflammation, while a cup of raspberries provides half of your daily recommended dose of Vitamin C.

Despite their innate sweetness, raspberries have only 5g of sugar per cup when fresh and have a low glycemic index (which means they break down more slowly in the body), making them the ideal ingredient for creating a balanced gelato that doesn’t cause a large spike in blood sugar levels.

Our Raspberry gelato is a huge crowd-pleaser and an award-winner to boot – earning two stars at the Great Taste Awards and being a finalist at the World Plant Based Taste Awards. This is what some of our customers have to say about the flavour:
